This class features traditional Vedic breathing exercises to generate powerful experiences of releasing habitual patterns of tension, stilling the beck + call of the senses, and coming home to the ever-calm, grounded, and empowered true Self. "Prana" is the Sanskrit word for the the spark of life, and "Yama" means control or management, which refers to ways of breathing deeply. Freely flowing prana is the key to wellness. Pranayama class offers methodical approach to the breathing techniques taught to us from the authors of Yoga's ancient texts. Indian Yoga Alliance strongly recommends starting any yoga practice with Pranayama, because of its fundamental therapeutic benefits of clearing the energy channels and establishing a strong energetic basis to build from (including nadis, meridians, as well as emotional and spiritual channels) Good for all adults, from experienced practitioner to complete beginner, and all youth who are ready to get curious about their own inner world.
