Abhyanga Oil Massage Therapy is a 60-75 minute treatment, including medicated oil chosen to complement your body's specific balance of elements and needs. Abhyanga Massage treatment applies healing oil into the skin and nourishes underlying tissues, bringing deep restoration to the physical body as well as the energetic centers and emotional body. With Ayurvedic massage, you will release stored toxins and absorb profound internal and external nourishment, gently bringing the body's ever-changing elemental constitution (doshas) into balance. Ayurvedic massage serves not only to relieve pain but especially as preventive medicine increasing circulation, stimulating and strengthening the lymphatic system, and opening the flow of life force in order to cleanse and revitalize the body. In addition, herbal oils used in Ayurvedic massages are very nourishing and detoxifying, helping to prevent aging and leaving the skin soft and shiny. On the other hand, Ayurvedic massages provide other benefits as symptomatic relief of stress and the generation of positive emotions to make us feel better both physical and mentally. Ayurveda Therapy is a 10,000 year old complete body treatment system which includes proper elimination, as well as proper diet, proper exercise, proper rest, and proper meditation. Proper elimination, or detoxification of body and mind, is the emphasis of the Panch Karma Ayurveda Therapies offered at Indian Yoga Alliance. Abhyanga is given with therapeutic oil, chosen to complement your body constitution and balance the body according to the Tattvas (elements).
